Handshake Agreement Meme

Moving fast a few months later, and the meme has now developed (or developed depending on how you want to look at it) that people simply use a handshake emoji to connect similar ideas, but with a bit of flex snarker. Take for example the following tweet, which went viral this weekend, comparing Ariana Grandes new separation song „thank you, next“ to the song „The Good Side“ by YouTube star Troy Sivan. On October 23, 2010, YouTuber ImKyserSoze released a parody video in which the handshake of the Predator scene causes a massive explosion of the atom (see below, left). Over the next three years, the video garnered more than 420,000 views and 460 comments. On November 28, YouTuber itsybitsy113 uploaded a remix of the scene with the Guile theme from the video game Street Fighter 2 (see bottom, right) and received more than 300,000 views and 650 comments over the next three years. But the latest novelty in the endless saga of viral moments on the Internet stands out. Instead of following groups that disagree, people unite with the international symbol of the agreement: the handshake. Some versions of the handshake meme show people from different subcultures coming together through a mutual love for Pink Floyd or a bunch of hands on each other to truly unite the world. This week on the Internet: Utah Monolith, Spotify Wrapped and a toxic meme that sums up in 2020 The meme follows a similar form to the „distracted friend“ meme, which uses an image for different labels to edit the joke. Recently, the meme was posted with a screenshot of Predator, but backed by the ever-popular YouTube user tribute video below, its recent relaunch used different media to show opposing groups. The saga first began with a meme that arrived on the internet in August.
