Infrastructure Bilateral Agreement
To support funding, Infrastructure Canada (on behalf of the Government of Canada) worked closely with Canada`s 13 provinces and territories to negotiate and sign funding agreements. Agreements have been signed with the provinces and territories on the following funds: The Canadian government proposes to provide GNWT with a maximum amount of US$570,776,826 in four key areas: local public transport; Green infrastructure Community, culture and recreation infrastructure Infrastructure for rural and northern communities, including the Arctic Energy Fund; For a project, there is no site preparation, distance or vegetation construction, and Canada is not required to pay eligible expenses that are capital costs, as defined by Canada, until Canada is satisfied that the federal requirements under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 (AAEC) , 2012), other applicable federal environmental assessment laws that come into force or may come into force for the duration of this agreement, and other applicable agreements between Canada and Aboriginal groups are respected and continue to be respected. The Gas Tax Fund contributes to the construction of Canadian communities by providing predictable, long-term funding to support municipal infrastructure that contributes to cleaner air, cleaner water and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
